Your local Osteopath…
Osteopathy Suffolk founder Simon Boyd D.O. BSc (hons) graduated from the European School of Osteopathy in 2008 and in the same year, set up his first clinic in Kent, which continues to thrive to this day. Following a move to rural Suffolk, Simon quickly recognised that there was a gap in provision for the same service within his local community and Osteopathy Suffolk was born.
Simon is passionate about supporting people to live their lives as fully as possible. Osteopathy Suffolk is built on his ethos of provision of outstanding care; allowing patients to live life as fully and as pain free as possible and offering treatments which promote self-healing, particularly where more traditional medical interventions have failed.
What is meant by “self-healing”?
Your brain controls your entire body, and for your body to work correctly it needs to be able to send messages around your body’s systems. The nervous system, cardiovascular system, muscular and skeletal systems, along with your organs, all receive messages from the brain. Any interference within these systems can affect these messages, things can go wrong, and those all-important messages aren’t delivered.
You also need to have a good blood supply to ensure all the necessary nutrients can be circulated around the body. Tight muscles and poor joint mobility can interfere with this. Stress, whether it manifests physically or emotionally, can cause your body to react negatively. The joints and muscles will stiffen up which alters how your body works, leading to wear and tear. Collectively this is bad news as there will be a negative effect on your overall health, sometimes leading to a number of health concerns. These include;
- Neck and back pain
- Headaches
- Poor digestion
- Bowel problems
- Tiredness
.…or sometimes just general aches and pains.
Symptoms such as neck and back pain, or headaches, are your body’s way of telling you that things may be off-balance. The body is designed to heal itself, and if it is unable to (and the pain continues), then something, somewhere is preventing the healing process. Correcting the spine and releasing the tightened muscles allows the body to heal itself naturally, and provides a long-term solution, without having to rely on long-term medication.
